Day 1 – Do you believe in God?/What religion are you?
I am pretty much going to use all these questions to rant when i’m bored.
I was raised a catholic, like most other Latin Americans. I do not regret or hate that i was raised as a catholic, it was a great experience that i will cherish for the rest of my life. I love that i was raised catholic, despite what people say about the church. I am obsessed with the catholic church, catholic writings, catholic art, catholic rituals and traditions. I am in love with the saints. Does this mean that i believe in everything the catholic church teaches, absolutely not. I consider myself a cultural catholic, i follow it as a part of my culture/ heritage, not my religion.
I believe in a higher power, or perhaps powers. I do not believe that Jesus christ was the messiah, because according to the scripts before him much more was to come out of the arrival of the messiah. The lions have yet to lay down in peace. I do believe that there is a high power or higher powers out there but i do no claim to know who they are.
The popol vuh depicts one of my favourite stories of creation. It is one of the most comforting creation stories i’ve ever read. It comforts me to think that the higher power is just as imperfect as the beings that they created.
